Ghoti is a constructed word used to illustrate irregularities in English spelling. It is a respelling of the word fish, and like fish is pronounced /ˈfɪʃ/. It has,
- gh, pronounced /f/ as in tough ;
- o, pronounced /ɪ/ as in women; and
- ti, pronounced /ʃ/ as in nation.

He was sleeping between two crying girls, a metaphor for his love life to come; or 2) watching Sesame street in my parents’ old living room. I cannot tell which came first.
